Cup Kings at a European level

With the cup won this Saturday at La Cartuja, Barça now have 31 Copas del Rey. But apart from the dominance at a national level, this trophy, the sixth won since 2010, brings up some interesting stats amongst European clubs.

European leader in cups won

In the five major European leagues, Barça are tied with Bayern Munich and PSG (6 cups) if we take into account the Coupe de France in the case of the French team and the DFB Pokal in the case of Bayern Munich. Arsenal, with four cup titles, and Juventus, also with four, are just behind.

Historic dominance of the competition

Apart from dominating the competition, with 31 titles, Barça also lead the ranking when compared to the rest of the major European leagues. Bayern are second in this particular ranking with 20 cups, whilst Arsenal are in third position with 14.

Curiously, comparing things at the world level, the team with the most cup trophies is FC Vaduz (Liechtenstein), with 47 and Linfield with 43 (Northern Ireland). Celtic make up the top three with 40 (Scotland).
