Franc Artiga leaves Under-19s A coaching role

After 11 years at the club, the coach leaves FC Barcelona for a new challenge

Franc Artiga has vacated his role as coach of FC Barcelona’s Under-19s A team, in order to take on a new challenge in his professional career.

He took over the Under-19s A team in October 2019, after the departure of Víctor Valdés. Artiga claimed eleven consecutive victories that led to his team becoming league champions, taking the top spot just before the season was ended by the Covid-19 pandemic.

He leaves with the team second in the division, with 31 points and a game in hand over the leaders, with 37.

Artiga's career has seen him coach several FC Barcelona teams, with league titles at all of them. He has worked with several players who have gone on to enjoy success at senior level, such as Carles Pérez, Carles Aleñá, Cucurella, Riqui Puig, Ansu Fati, Eric Garcia, Ilaix Moriba, Álex Collado, Konrad de la Fuente, Monchu, Iñaki Peña and Arnau Tenas.

The club thank him for the professionalism he has shown over the 11 years he has spent at different FC Barcelona youth teams, and wish him the best for the future.
