5. Zalaya

Born in Zaragoza on 29 April 1998, Zalaya came to Barça Atlètic in the summer of 2022 on a free transfer after a spell with Cornellà. 

Álex Zalaya is a left sided central defender who came through the youth system at Real Zaragoza. After making his debut for the first team at his home town club, in the summer of 2018 he signed for Sporting Gijón B where he played for three seasons before moving to Cornellà in 2021. 

Despite starting his career as a striker, Zalaya gradually established himself as a centre back. His height (1.84m) allows him to dominate in the air and he brings experience also to the Barça Atlètic back line.
