FC Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, is set to join the Barça Innovation Hub (BIHUB) sports innovation event, the Sport Tomorrow Congress, for the closing session on the second and final day of this forum on Tuesday 27 February. The Club’s president’s speech will highlight the spirit of the event, and by extension, FC Barcelona’s desire for innovation in the field of technology and knowledge management.

Digital content and entertainment

Joan Laporta's speech will mark the end of a second day in which FC Barcelona will also feature Bryan Bachner, managing director of Barça Vision and director of FC Barcelona's delegations in the Asia-Pacific and United States regions, who will lead a round table to discuss about the possibilities that offers technology and new digital Media to connect with new audiences.

Start-ups and new investments

Start-ups with BIHUB involvement will also feature on the second day of the congress. On the one hand, OLIVER will give a session on the democratisation of sports science and how it is filtering into a wider audience via biometric data measuring devices. On the other, CeleBreak will also give a talk about the new digital communities being created around sport, as is the case with their app that brings people together to play amateur football.

The day will be completed by a session on new investment techniques in the world of sport tech, hosted by an expert in the field from North America, Meredith McPherron, the managing director of Drive by DraftKing.
