FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta attended a celebration on Saturday in Navalmoral de la Mata in Cáceres for the 50th anniversary of the Morala FC Barcelona Supporters' Club and the 11th Meeting of the Extremadura Supporters' Clubs. 

The president was accompanied by vice president of the Social Area, Antoni Escudero and the director for the area, Josep Ignasi Macià, as well as by former players Ricardo Serna and Manolo Tomé, members of the Agrupació de Jugadors del FC Barcelona, former handball player and Presidential assessor, Enric Masip and also former basketball player and Club ambassador, Audie Norris. 

The 50th anniversary celebrations came two years later than planned due to the coronavirus pandemic with 2020 marking the anniversary but after postponement they were finally able to be carried out on Saturday. 

The events began with a reception at the town council of Navalmoral de la Mata in which the FC Barcelona party was welcomed by the mayor Raquel Medina, councillor for Sport, José Manuel Encinas, accompanied by the Supporters' Club and Regional representative for Extremadura, Miguel Angel Cruz. 

After speeches and exchange of gifts, Joan Laporta signed the book of honour at the council and then all parties headed for a local restaurant for the corresponding celebratory lunch. 

The events continued without the Barça president in the evening with a chat about the legendary 'Dream Team' involving former players Ricard Serna and Manolo Tomé and a dinner to conclude the celebrations.
