Barça Legends and Girona FC Legends to play charity game for ALS

All proceeds from gate takings go to the Fundació Miquel Valls

The 44th edition of the Costa Brava Trophy organised by Girona FC will be featuring for the first time the Barça Legends in a game that will be played this year for charity, the protagonist being a player and coach who is very dear to both clubs, Juan Carlos Unzué. The Barça Legends will be at Montilivi stadium to take on a team of Girona FC Legends next Sunday 16 January at noon.

There is still a month to go before the game, but it has already been announced that the players on show will include Sergi Barjuan, Guillermo Amor, Jon Andoni Goikoetxea, Juan Carlos Moreno, Jofre Mateu, Juan Carlos and Jesús Mariano Angoy for the Barça Legends, while Girona FC will feature club legends such as Jandro, Migue, Matamala or Jose.

All proceeds from gate takings and other revenue raised on the day will be donated to promoting awareness of such a cruel illness as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), of which Juan Carlos Unzué is a sufferer and who, from the moment he was diagnosed, has been a major activist and promoter of fundraising activities to combat the illness. The man who coached at both clubs has requested that the proceeds go to the Fundació Miquel Valls.

Tickets for this game can be purchased for €5 for any sector of the ground apart from the main grandstand, for which tickets cost €10. Tickets are on sale now from the official Girona website at www.entrades.gironafc.cat and at the Montilivi ticket offices. People who are unable to attend the game or who would like to contribute something more than the face value of the tickets are invited to make further donations to the Fundació Miquel Valls via Bizum or bank transfer.
