Eight FC Barcelona candidates for the FIFA FIFPRO XI 2021

Once more the time for the FIFA FIFPRO XI of the year is upon us. This time around there are no less than eight Barça players included in the shortlists for both men's and women's teams of the year. 

Jordi Alba, Dani Alves, Sergio Busquets, Frenkie de Jong and Leo Messi are all on the 23 man list of contenders for the men's XI whilst  Irene Paredes, Aitana Bonmatí and Alexia Putellas all on the shortlist for the women's XI. 

In both categories a goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders and three forwards with the most votes will make it into the FIFA FIFPRO XI along with the player who received most votes not selected in their position. 

FIFA and FIFPRO will announced the XI on Monday 17 January 2022 during the FIFA The Best gala.
