First-team players share what drives and motivates them during the CUPRA Next Gen Podcast

First-team players Marc ter Stegen, Frenkie de Jong, Ansu Fati, Pedri and Eric García feature in two special episodes of the CUPRA Next Gen Podcast from the automobile manufacturer and Club's official Automotive and Mobility partner. These new episodes are titled ‘The Impulse’ and feature Barça players discussing motivation and what inspired them to play football.

The players highlight the importance of teamwork, constant effort to keep progressing, and change as a way to bring in a new era.

Ter Stegen and De Jong share a passion for constant improvement

“Success depends on growing as a team and believing in our strengths and everything we do”, states Ter Stegen, a CUPRA ambassador. Improvement and development are two key factors for the Barça goalkeeper, along with a strong belief that every action can have a major impact.

De Jong considers that everything depends on making the most of opportunities. The Dutch player explains that being able to play for Barça is a “dream come true”. He adds: “I sometimes get to the training ground, look up at the sky, and I stop and think that I am in Barcelona for a moment. I am proud of that and I want to make the most of it”.

Ansu Fati, Pedri and Eric García about the role of the next generation

Passion, a desire for better results and to become an example of self-improvement for future generations are some of the characteristics that define young Barça talents such as Ansu Fati, Pedri and Eric García. “We have to give our all to show that anything is possible for those that come after us”, states Ansu Fati, while Pedri highlights that he focuses on enjoying every game when out on the pitch with his teammates and Eric underlines his family's key supporting role during his career.

Through personal stories, confessions, and the odd anecdote, the CUPRA podcast provided the forum for the first-team players to highlight the relationship between drive, a desire to improve and football.
