Fourth edition of the Master's in Football Business

Jordi Argemí participated in the opening ceremony of the new course of these studies organised by the Johan Cruyff Institute in collaboration with the Barça Innovation Hub

This Tuesday saw the inauguration of the Fourth Edition of the Master's in Football Business organised by the Johan Cruyff Institute in collaboration with the Barça Innovation Hub through Barça Universitas, its knowledge transmission platform. The event took place in the Camp Nou Box and was chaired by Jordi Argemí, director of FC Barcelona, and Mariela Koerhuis, Director of the Johan Cruyff Institute. Both have welcomed 12 students from ten different countries who this year have enrolled in a course that will conclude in June 2021 and which includes different topics related to the management of the football industry.

The great attraction of this master's degree is that it combines the background of a club like Barça and the expertise and legacy of Johan Cruyff. The FC Barcelona business model is one of the main contents of these studies, which are taught by expert teachers in sports management, including professionals who work at the club. The master's combines online training with a face-to-face module in which all the security measures established by health protocols will be guaranteed.

In the welcoming speech Jordi Argemí highlighted the importance of being able to celebrate this master's degree, despite the difficulties derived from the pandemic, and described the features that differentiate this course from the rest of the training offer in this area: "From FC Barcelona we are convinced that we can help train future leaders in the sports industry. The trajectory and experience of a club that this year reaches 121 years of history support us. But what makes this master's special is the charisma and the added value provided by Johan's legacy, through the Johan Cruyff Institute," he explained.

This initiative is part of the collaboration agreement signed in September 2016 between the Johan Cruyff Institute and FC Barcelona, through the Barça Innovation Hub, the platform that brings together all the club's research, innovation and training projects and that aims to turn FC Barcelona into a world reference of knowledge in the world of sport.
