FC Barcelona and Canon Medical renew partnership for five seasons
Medical device company will supply the Club with leading-edge diagnostic imaging systems to help improve injury prevention and player rehabilitation
FC Barcelona and Canon Medical have announced today a renewal of their partnership agreement, through which the Japanese medical device company will continue to be one of the club’s Global Partners for the next five seasons, through to 30 June 2025. As part of the agreement, Canon Medical has also renewed its collaboration with Barça Innovation Hub (BIHUB), the knowledge and innovation platform that the club uses to create products and services not only for use by the Club and its athletes but also by society in general.
As part of the extension of this alliance, Canon Medical, as the Official Medical Systems Partner, will continue to supply cutting-edge systems to the FC Barcelona Medical Centre at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper training facility. Therefore, the club will continue to count on the very latest developments in image-based diagnosis systems to help improve player rehab.
As part of the agreement, Canon Medical will also continue its collaboration with the Barça Innovation Hub (BIHUB) to develop ground-breaking sports medicine solutions that can aid in the prevention and diagnosis of critical injuries both on and off the pitch.
Since the partnership began in 2015, Canon Medical has supplied FC Barcelona’s medical centre at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper training facility with a range of solutions. Moving forward, the plan is to deliver a range of new and exciting technologies, including the first AI-powered MRI system, the Vantage Galan 3T with Advanced intelligent Clear-IQ Engine (AiCE), a suite of ultrasound solutions, such as the Viamo SV7, Aplio a550, Aplio i800, and Aplio i900 Platinum Series and the latest digital X-ray system.
This agreement also forms part of FC Barcelona’s quest to proactively source and work with partners that are aligned with club’s own values and philosophy. It also reinforces its strategy of establishing alliances that can help it to continue leading the way not only on the field of play but also in terms of sports partnership and marketing.
