The Barça Escola Camp Basket is the official FC Barcelona camp and is open to both boys and girls. The main official languages will be Catalan and Spanish, plus English if necessary.

Arrival time (5 July):

  • The players must be in the reception of Hotel City Park at 19 h, where they will be greeted by the director of the Camp (Juan Carlos Navarro) and the coaches. There will be a meeting to tell everyone how the camp works, and about the rules, timetables and room allocation.

Departure time (12 July):

  • On the last day of the camp, parents have the option of collecting their child from the pavilion at the Ciutat Esportiva itself or from Hotel City Park.

Open doors training and closure

  • Families may attend the final advanced workshop and the finals of the different camp competitions. Families may arrive from 10 h, although they can’t collect their children until 12.30 h, after the event. Food and beverages that will be available both for families and athletes once the competition is over.

Travel

  • When and where must participants arrive?
    On Sunday 5 July at 19 h in the reception at Hotel City Park, where our team of coaches and camp organisers will be waiting.
  • How are children’s arrivals managed?
    Arrivals of each specific child must be reported to the person in charge of check-in. If you cannot find this person, please report to any coach, who will tell you who you need to speak to.
  • How much money should children be given?
    Children do not need money for any of the activities. We recommend that they should be given just enough spending money to cover for a few drinks, souvenirs and similar.
  • Does my child require insurance?
    We process a basic insurance policy for all participants. This policy does not cover loss of personal belongings.

Training sessions

  • Where are training sessions held?
    Training sessions are held in the basketball pavilion at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. Also, on 7 July we have access to the Palau Blaugrana, and will train there.
  • How are the groups organized on the first day?
    The players are divided by age but over the first few days changes may be made to the teams depending on level and/or the coaches’ needs to ensure that the camp works best.
  • What is the coach to player ratio?
    There is one coach for every 8-10 children.
  • Do I need to be of a certain level in order to sign up for the camp?
    You do not need to be a high level player to take part in the camp. This camp is for intercultural exchange, enjoying a Barça experience and developing as a player and person.
  • Are there specific training sessions for different positions?
    Yes, there will be advanced training sessions.
  • If a player gets injured, what is the treatment procedure?
    The Ciutat Esportiva has physiotherapist and FC Barcelona is also offering its Medical Services. If a child gets sick while at the residence, he or she will be taken to the nearest hospital.
  • Can parents attend the training session on 7 July in the Palau Blaugrana?
    No. These training sessions are all behind closed doors.
  • Can parents attend the training sessions on 12 July?
    Parents and companions are invited to attend the open doors training session on Sunday 12 July. Parents may not interfere with the training session and videos may not be recorded (photos are allowed). You must register in advance in order to attend.
  • What clothes do I need to take?
    Participants should bring clothes for use in training; the uniforms supplied by the Barça Academy will be used in certain activities as instructed by the coaches.

Running the camp

  • What is the official language of the Barça Escola Camp Basket?
    Catalan and Spanish, plus English if necessary.
  • What other activities are there on camp?
    There will be activities like going to the Camp Nou Experience, visiting the Barça Store Camp Nou and a trip to the beach in Castelldefels. See schedule of activities.
  • Are mobile phones allowed on camp?
    They can only be used at authorised times. Mobiles will be collected on arrival at the hotel and will be returned at certain times.
  • What’s the best time to call my child?
    We advise you to call participants between 19 h and 21 h.
  • How can we contact the staff?
    You may contact the staff by email at any time. The general information section provides the phone numbers of the camp coordinators and director.
  • What items are forbidden on camp?
    Alcohol, drugs and tobacco are all totally forbidden on camp.
  • What is the procedure for dealing with improper behaviour among participants?
    Players must respect their team-mates, the staff and the camp rules. In the case of serious misbehaviour, we shall have no option but to expel offenders from the camp. Parents or guardians will be informed immediately and will have to purchase a return ticket for the child.
  • What legal checks are used to control coaches and staff?
    All coaches and staff must present documents showing that they have no criminal records and no background of sexual offenses. FC Barcelona is also fully committed to safeguarding the security and welfare of every one of the participants.
  • Where do I call in case of emergency?
    If there are any emergencies, you may make direct telephone contact with the camp coordinators or director at any time.

Accommodation

  • How are rooms allocated?
    There are 3 people to a room, and they are allocated by ages.
  • Where are girls roomed on the camp?
    They will be in 3-people rooms shared with other girls.
  • Any recommendation for clothes to bring to camp?
    We advise you to bring two towels, one for the swimming pool and one for the day we go to the beach.
  • Do the children have access to internet to send an e-mail to their parents?
    Yes, the hotel has Wi-Fi.
  • What’s the food like in the hotel and at the Ciutat Esportiva?
    The food is varied and healthy. Breakfast and dinner will be in the hotel, while lunch and snack will be at the Ciutat Esportiva.
  • Where can participants leave their valuables?
    We do not advise anyone to bring valuables.
  • Can parents visit their children during the camp?
    Not. Only when arranging it beforehand and in specific cases.

Payment method and cancellation policy

  • How do I pay for the camp?
    A single payment must be made of the total amount.
  • What is the deadline for inscriptions?
    Until June 14 or while there are still free places.
  • What is the payment method?
    Payment is made on inscription via VISA, VISA Electron or Master Card.
  • Are there any discounts?
    There will be a 10% discount on advance bookings until 30 March. If you are from a Barça Basketball Academy, have a brother or sister who has been on any indoor sports camp with us, are an FC Barcelona member* or play for the Barça basketball school or Barça Sant Feliuenc this discount is applicable until June 14 or while there are still free places.

  • Can I cancel the inscription?
    You can only cancel the registration in cases of force majeure. You should send an email explaining the situation to: barcacamps.basket@fcbarcelona.cat and the case will be looked into.
  • Cancelation of the camp.
    FC Barcelona reserves the right to cancel the camp if the minimum number of places to organise two training groups are not filled.
