FC Barcelona 75-83 Virtus Segafredo Bologna: Tumbled at the Palau
Italians capitalise on a strong start and go home victorious in the EuroLeague
Barça were playing catch-up all the way against Virtus Segafredo Bologna and although they managed to tie the game in the third period, they failed to keep up the momentum and there was an Italian victor at the Palau on Thursday
The game got off to an awful start, with the Italians making 8/9 in 2-pointers and leading by eleven after the first ten minutes
Barça managed to sort things out somewhat in the second period, with a vast improvement in defence. An Abrines three got them back within one, and the game was wide open again.
After 25 minutes, the Catalans were finally back level at 51-51, and Vesely then snatched the lead. But it was a false awakening. Going into the final period, the visitors were back in charge.
Things were still tight until a 0-7 streak for Virtus as good as put the game to bed. Barça needed to break down a 10-point deficit and there simply wasn't enough time left to make that happen.
Next up is Betis at the Palau on Saturday (8.45pm CET).
