Barça stepped on the court in search of their first win in five seasons at the Menora Mitavchin Arena. They grew into the first quarter and made the most of their opponent's errors to end the period with a three goal lead (20-23).
Effective three point shooting from Abrines and Laprovittola was proving key, but Brown responded for the home side to put Maccabi in front (40-36). A Colson three pointer right on the buzzer broke the deadlock to send the home side in three points ahead at halftime (43-40).
All to play for in the final period
Maccabi came out an extended their lead to six (50-44). However, a 10 point run without reply for the Catalans proved the turning point. The home side ended the quarter strongly, though, 61-62 with all to play for.
An inspired Higgins in the final quarter, aided by a controlled team performance, saw an 11 point run without reply, which proved enough to see out a tense win, the fifth in seven in the EuroLeague.
