Real Madrid 75-85 Barça: Another blaugrana Clásico

Wizink Centre conquered as the Catalans beat their biggest rivals for the third time this season

Barça got back to winning ways and in the most refreshing way possible, by winning away to in-form Real Madrid. After leading for most of the game, they are now back in charge of their own fate as far as finishing top of the Liga Endesa regular season is concerned.

The MVP was Nico Laprovittola, with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists, while Kuric and Sanli led the scoring with 17 each and Mirotic had 13.

Both sides had strong spells in the first period, but Madrid were somewhat aharper on the paint and ended it leading 24-18.

The second period was just as tight, but Barça upped their defensive intensity and spurred by an exceptional Kyle Kuric had managed to put some space between themselves and their opponents at the break (42-40).

Sertac Sanli’s 11 points and 2 rebounds were the highlight of a third period in which the Catalans made sure they held onto their lead. At one point they led by ten, and going into the final quarter were still well in charge (54-63).

But Real Madrid kept battling hard, so nothing was decided and it took all the experience Barça had to put together smart possessions and play down the clock. It wasn’t really until Nikola Mirotic scored a spectacular three with 20 seconds to go that this game was finally well and truly won (75-85).
