Anadolu Efes 93-95 Barça: Overtime win

In a hostile atmosphere, the EuroLeague leaders come from behind to snatch an impressive victory

Barça have won a thriller of as game in Istanbul. The game was flying from side to side and ended up being decided in overtime, leaving Barça top of the EuroLeague (11-2).

A game with Anadolu Efes was never going to be a dull one, and although Barça got off to a quick start as Sertaç Sanli scored two threes against his former club to pout Barça 5-12 up, this was going to be tight game all the way.

Indeed, by the quarter hour mark, the story was very different. The Turks established a commanding 33-23 lead, before some fine play from Mirotic and Laprovittola narrowed the gap back down to two. Yet by the break, the ten-point gap had opened up again.

Those same two players were still paramount in keeping the Catalans in the game. Gradually, better control of rebounds and interior play meant they were able to slowly chip away at the difference, before two Sanli 3-pointers in 0-10 streak totally changed the pattern of the game. All of a sudden, Barça were four points up!

It looked like the game was blaugrana, but a late surge from the home side somehow managed to send the game into overtime.

Added time was mainly an interchange of points, but somehow Barça, spurred on by fine scores from KuricJokubaitis and Sanli, always looked the more solid of the teams, and went on to celebrate a fabulous victory in Turkey
