Born on 29 April 1998 in Melhus, Norway, Ingrid Engen arrived at Barça in the summer of 2021 from German club Wolfsburg, the team's first signing for the 2021/22 season.
The powerful 23-year-old tends to play in the middle and is renowned for her skill, positioning and penetration, which should fit nicely with Barça’s typical association game. The Norwegian international has faced Barça twice in the past, in the Champions League semi-finals in 2019/20 with Wolfsburg, and in the quarter finals of 2018/19 with LSK Kvinner.
Since joining the blaugranes the Norwegian has become a key member of the squad and she has added a Champions League trophy, two Super Cups and two league titles to her list of honours.
Engen made her debut for the national side in 2018 and featured for Norway in both the 2019 and 2023 World Cups.
