Barça B changes up their routine with a paddle tournament and a team meal ahead of the last match of the season
Eusebio considers these types of activities help "the group dynamic”
The Barça B team will close out the season this Sunday in Jerez after successfully securing a spot in the Liga Adelante next season. Today, however, most of the team enjoyed a day of recreation as the players traded in their football boots for rackets. The reserve team gathered in Gavà to play a paddle tournament (which was won by Sergi Roberto and Martí Riverola). After the tournament, the team gathered in a local Castelldefels restaurant for dinner.
This is not the first time that Barça B have taken the day off from football to enjoy team-building activities. On November 16, the team went go karting in Vendrell, with a team meal included. On April 18, the Azulgranas had a team meal at the old Damm factory.
Fun and relaxation
The manager Eusebio Sacristán explained the benefits of changing up the team’s routine: “it’s a more relaxed atmosphere where the lads can have fun and be together outside of their professional duty. We have a job that we all like, but it implies seriousness and responsibility, and that’s a good thing.” He added: “during the season we’ve done a couple of external activities that have allowed us to change up our routines. They are recreational activities that help out with group dynamics.”
