Xavi and Pedro spoke to the press earlier today ahead of tonight’s game against PSG and both stressed that the team will be going all out for everything this season
FC Barcelona play their third friendly of the pre-season tonight against PSG at the Parc de Principes and Xavi and Pedro faced the media beforehand to speak about their hopes for the new season.
“We will be fighting for everything”
Xavi Hernandez made clear his aims for the coming campaign: “we will be fighting to win all the titles on offer. First the Super Cup against Madrid and then the other competitions”. As for his own role, the Catalan midfielder insisted: “I just try and be useful for the team. Physically, I feel good and I’ll play all that I can”. For his part, Pedro was positive about the B team players coming through: “they are good and I think we have a squad capable of having another good season”.
Tough rival in the Champions League
Xavi reckons that PSG will be a team to watch in the Champions League this season: “they have put together a very good team with a lot of money spent. Thiago Silva and Ibra have joined some other good players” As for his ex-colleague Ibra: “we have a good image of him, we still have a lot of good feelings about him – he helped us to some good results”.
“It’s great for football”
Both players also commented on the presence of Eric Abidal in Paris, with Pedro claiming: “it’s good for football as a whole that he is here and the players, his family and Barça as a whole are all very happy to see him getting better”.
