The players will have a rest day on Thursday and will be back to prepare for the Clásico on Friday morning
After last night’s important win against Benfica at Da Luz Stadium, the players were back in training at the Ciutat Esportiva. With the players who figured last night recovering from the game, the rest - together with B team players Sergi Roberto, Tello, Oier, Ilie, Patric and Lobato – put in a full session as they worked on preparations for Sunday’s game against Real Madrid.
The most notable absentee was captain Carles Puyol, who dislocated his elbow in the Benfica game. The team’s other injured players continued their recovery work, including Gerard Piqué, who did specific work in the gym.
Rest day on Thursday
Tito Vilanova has given his players a day off on Thursday, with preparations continuing for Sunday’s game on Friday, when the squad will train at eleven in the morning, with another session set for Saturday at six in the evening.
