The Barça handball team claimed their 16th consecutive league title on Saturday, a 33rd in total, guaranteeing the professional teams at FC Barcelona at least one league trophy, a run that stretches back 50 years. 

From 1977 until now 

One of the identifying traits of FC Barcelona is the professional nature of its sports teams. Barça has six professional teams: men's football, women's football, basketball, handball, roller hockey and futsal. 

The season 1976/77 saw the roller hockey team claim the league title and since then each season at least one of the teams has won a league trophy. 

120...and counting 

In total, since 1976/77, FC Barcelona have won 120 professional league title with the latest being this season's handball success, an incredible achievement that is proof of the teams' desire to add to the Barça trophy cabinet. 

In the last 50 years the men's football team have won 19 league titles, the women's team 10, basketball, 19, handball, 31, roller hockey 34 and futsal seven, with hopefully more to come this season.
