Hansi Flick spoke to the media after FC Barcelona's 3-0 defeat of RCD Mallorca at Spotify Camp Nou, with goals from Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal and Marc Bernal.

The Barça coach wasn't thrilled with the first half, but felt quite the opposite about the second, and also spoke about the importance of La Masia to the club.

Second half improvement

The German coach admitted that “I wasn’t happy with the first half, with the level we showed. We had to improve in certain situations. The second half is how we want Barça to play.”

Young talent

Flick also made special mention of Barça’s youth system and its role within the club, linking it to Tommy Marqués’s first team debut and Bernal's maiden goal for the club.

“Relying on La Masia is good for the club" he said. "It’s how we do things. We’re also very happy about Tommy's debut. He has a lot of confidence on the ball and knows what he’s doing. I like what I see from him in training, and he can play in several positions.”

“We celebrated Bernal’s goal a lot. He did very well and also managed to score. Now we have many matches coming up and it’s important that all the players are involved.”
