In the eighth item on the agenda of the 2025 Ordinary General Assembly, FC Barcelona’s institutional vice president and head of Espai Barça, Elena Fort, presented to the delegate members a comprehensive update on the status of the Spotify Camp Nou building work and the next steps in the return of the Barça fans to the stadium.

Fort began her presentation with a video that showcased every area of the stadium, highlighting how the facilities are now ready to welcome Barça fans once more.

Progress in the phases of building work

Regarding Phase 1A (Main Stand and South Goal), last Friday the Club obtained the first occupancy licence granted by the Barcelona City Council. This phase means a capacity of 25,991 spectators, including 81 spaces for people with reduced mobility, and includes improvements in safety and access, new dressing rooms, a players’ tunnel, and modern access and fire suppression systems.

Regarding Phase 1B (Lateral Stand), the institutional vice president explained that the Club is already working on the necessary documentation and is in ongoing contact with the Barcelona City Council to obtain the required permits. This phase will allow the capacity to extend to 45,401 spectators, with 129 spaces for people with reduced mobility. It also guarantees safety for reopening and allows for all necessary tests before it becomes fully operational. 

Finally, Phase 1C (North Goal) sees authorization from the Barcelona City Council expected before the end of the year. Fort revealed that this phase will bring together all elements from Phases 1A and 1B and will add new VIP lounges, reaching a total capacity of 62,518 spectators, with 171 spaces for people with reduced mobility.

Gol 1957, new supporters group

Elena Fort also announced details of the new fans' group named 'Gol 1957' in tribute to the stadium's original inauguration on 24 September 1957. This group, which will is not yet available for the return to the stadium, is designed to be a source of support at Spotify Camp Nou. It will be formed by fans aged between 18 and 25 years age who have been on the waiting list for more than five years, with a guaranteed gender balance and an attendance of to more than 80% of matches. 

During her speech, the institutional vice president also took the opportunity to thank members for their support during this exciting yet complex process which signifies the return to the stadium in a new era for Camp Nou. Her message underlined the importance of collaboration and commitment for everyone to make sure that the return to Spotify Camp Nou is a safe, ordered and memorable process.
