Dani Alves back in a FC Barcelona shirt 2,032 days after his last game

The Brazilian full back makes his first appearance for Barça since the 2016 Copa del Rey final against Sevilla

Some 2,032 days have passed since Dani Alves donned the FC Barcelona shirt. On Tuesday, 5 years, 6 months and 20 days after his last appearance for the Club in the 2016 Copa del Rey win over Sevilla, the Brazilian was in blaugrana again.

Alves played the whole game against Boca Juniors in the Maradona Cup game to pay tribute to Diego in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Brazilian signed for Barça in November and cannot make his official debut until January 2022.

The defender played all 90 minutes and proved himself to be in great shape, bringing his usual dynamism in defence and attack. In the second half he wore the captain's armband he scored with his penalty in the shoot out following the 1-1 draw over 90 minutes.

His official total soon to start up again

Alves was able to appear against Boca Juniors as the game was not in official competition. With the period for registering new players just over two weeks away, the Brazilian will soon have the chance to add to the 391 official appearances he made for the Club between 2008 and 2016.
