Hamstring injury for Óscar Mingueza

Tests carried out on Tuesday confirm extent of injury

Tests carries on the player Óscar Mingueza on Tuesday at the Club medical centre have confirmed that he has a hamstring injury in his left leg. The player is unavailable for selection and his return will depend on his recovery. 

Silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics 

In the 2020/21 season Mingueza made 39 appearances for the first team: 27 in the league, 5 in the Copa del Rey, 5 in the Champions League and 2 in the Spanish Super Cup. This summer Mingueza was part of the Spanish Olympic squad that took the silver medal in the men's football tournament after losing in the final in extra time to Brazil. The Barça defender played in the first two group games and in the quarter final against the Ivory Coast before injury ended his run in the competition. 

Last April Mingueza signed a contract extension with FC Barcelona to tie him to the Club until the end of June 2023.
