Memphis trains with Barça for the first time

A day after his arrival in Barcelona, the Dutch international exercises for the first time under his compatriot Ronald Koeman

It has been an exciting morning at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, with Memphis Depay taking part in his first ever Barça training session.

But it was not the first time he has worked under the orders of Ronald Koeman, who he knows very well from the time the coach was in charge of the Dutch national team.

His debut session comes just a day before the first friendly against Gimnàstic Tarragona (Wednesday at 7.00pm CEST) and which like all the preseason encounters is being screened live on Barça TV+, although it remains to be seen whether we’ll get our first glimpse of the Holland international in that game.

Double session

With the opening friendly in mind, Tuesday’s morning workout focused on pre-game preparations combining exercises with and without the ball. But for the first time this preseason, this was just the first of TWO training sessions on the same day. That’s because the players will be back at the Ciutat Esportiva for another workout at 6.00pm CEST, and you can watch it live on Barça TV+.
