FC Barcelona’s roller hockey team have been paired up with Candelaria, Igualada and Quevert in Group A of the European League in this morning’s draw in Paredes (Portugal).
Opening and closing matches at the Palau
Gaby Cairo’s men will open their European League bid on November 10, against Igualada, in a match that will be hosted at the Palau Blaugrana. The second match-day of the European competition will take Barça to France to face off against Quevert, while the third and fourth matches will be against Portugal’s Candelaria. Barça will close out its group-stage run at the Palau, against Quevert.
Winner to play against Group D runner up
The format of the competition has changed this year. After four seasons, the European League goes back to a Final Four format (as opposed to a Final Eight). Barça, if the team finish first, will play in the quarter-finals against the runner up of Group D. Group D is made up of Liceo, Oliveirense, Valdagno and Geneva.
