Now, defending the Barça colours, he has another chance to claim the title that he has yet to add to his personal trophy cabinet

Barça Alusport will take on the exciting challenge of winning the UEFA Futsal Cup this weekend. This is the only title that the team have yet to win. On Friday, against Sporting Clube Portugal, the team will begin its journey to conquer the title; a title that’s been especially hard for Wilde to win. The Azulgrana player, who has won just as much with ElPozo Murcia as he has with Barça Alusport, has yet to lift the coveted European Cup.
The titles escaped his grasp twice
The year he was closed to winning the UEFA Futsal Cup was in the 2007/08 season. Playing to ElPozo Murcia, one of the dominant teams in futsal at the time, Wilde made it to the final, but his team lost to Ekaterinburg (3-2). Two years later, still with ElPozo, his team made it to the Elite round, the phase that leads to the Final Four. Luparense, however, eliminated the Murcian side, and Wilde was left without the chance to win the European title.
It’s time for the player to give it another try, this time with Barça Alusport. “We have a fantastic team to win it. We have to take it a step at a time, because we’re going up against good teams,” he said. “Sporting Clube [Barça’s rival on Friday] have already played for the European Cup, while Dynamo Moscow is a historic team.”
