The season is coming to an end. This Monday at 21:30 (Esport3, BarçaTV, MarcaTV, LaOtra and 7RM) the last 40 minutes of the LNFS will be played. It’s fifth and final match of the Final series. A do or die game. Barça or ElPozo will be the champions of the Liga this evening.
On one side, FC Barcelona are looking turn their fantastic season (three titles already won - Spanish Cup, UEFA Futsal Cup and Copa del Rey) into an exceptional one. On the other side, ElPozo, a historic team whose season has not been as successful: they played the final of the Copa del Rey and lost out to FC Barcelona Alusport, they were eliminated in the Spanish Cup in the quarterfinal but they finished first in the regular season in the Liga.
How FC Barcelona Alusport come into the match
The amount of fatigue within the Barça ranks at this point of the season will be combated by courage and heart. The fighting spirit and heart that the Barça players have has been on display throughout the whole season. The time has come to give it one last great effort. The players are aware of what is at stake and despite the fact that some of them are struggling to maintain match fitness- Lozano and Javi Rodríguez - and despite the injuries - Ari Santos - and despite the illnesses - Igor, who has the flu-, all of them want to feature in tonight’s match.
They know that tonight’s atmosphere will be adverse, hostile even, but they know that if they play like they did on Saturday, as long as some errors are corrected, ElPozo will be forced to play Barça’s game. Also, it will be Barça’s last game with Rodríguez. The Barça Alusport captain wants to leave the team in style, with a Liga title - it would be the second Liga title in team history.
Even though some of the local journalists continue to say that FC Barcelona are favourites for tonight’s game, Marc Carmona has repeatedly warned of ElPozo’s quality. The manager stated that he thinks it would be relatively difficult to win the title in a best-of-five series, even after winning the first game of the final at the Palacio de los Deportes in Murcia. ElPozo were the best team of the regular season and the Murcia-based team are proving, along with Barça, that they are the most solid team of the season.
The team managed by Duda have a couple of players that are on form: Grello and Alxes. The ex-Manacor player is brimming with confidence and he was decisive in the fourth match played this Saturday. In fact, he scored the 4-3 after an incredible run that started in his own half of the court and he scored teh definitive 5-4 with 2.7 seconds to go in the match. Alex, on the other hand, has scored six times against Barça in the Final series of the Liga.
