Most of Tito Vilanova’s players are back from holiday this Monday, with medical tests first on the agenda
Work is about to start in earnest for Tito Vilanova and his players. As always, medicals have been the order of the day as the players return from a much deserved break. The 14 players all reported to the medical centre at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, and after a series of analyses, they had a morning meal together before heading off more different tests.
The fourteen players (Dani Alves, Villa, Alexis, Messi, Thiago, Pinto, Mascherano, Afellay, Adriano, Cuenca, Fontàs, Bartra, Dos Santos and Muniesa) were divided into three groups for the first tests. At 9.30, the players were Messi, Mascherano, Villa and Pinto. Half an hour later it was the turn of Dani Alves, Adriano, Alexis and Fontàs, and then at 10.30 the final group consisted of Afellay, Dos Santos, Muniesa, Bartra, Thiago and Cuenca.
The staggered tests included echocardiology, densitometry (body mass analysis), effort tests, muscular and skeletal echography and biomechanical movement studies.
