Neither the Asturian or the Cameroonian were able to train today, but Puyol, Adriano and Dos Santos all exercised normally
Applause for Pinto
The session started with a hearty round of applause for José Manuel Pinto, who has just signed a contract to stay at the club for one more season.
After two days off following the win against Getafe, Barça returned to training on Wednesday morning at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. David Villa was expected to be back after being released from hospital with renal colic, but after an uncomfortable night he was unable to particopate.
Puyol, Adriano and Dos Santos in full force
Alex Song was also missing as he worked out in the gym as he strives to recover from the knee trouble that meant he missed Cameroon’s friendly last week. Xavi Hernández, another player receiving treatment, also stayed indoors.
But Carles Puyol and Adriano Correia, who were both substituted against Getafe as a precautionary measure, were able to train normally. Jonathan dos Santos was also back for the first time since spraining his ankle two and a half weeks ago.
