Finally he explained how significant it was for the Club to have Abidal present in Paris: “it was very important for us. It’s great for the players to see he is improving. It really comforted us”.
Puyol getting up to match fitness
Puyol himself spoke after the game and revealed: “I’ve been two weeks training with the squad and I’m getting better every day. I’m trying to improve my fitness each day to avoid the problems in my knee coming back. There are always a few little niggles after an operation, but I have been feeling better since the op. I have the experience of the operation on the other knee and I am happy with how things are coming along this time around. I’ve been training hard and I am ready to play – these games are good to get you up to match fitness”.
