Medical tests confirm that Carles Puyol has strained the posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The player will be out of action for four to six weeks. It’s worth noting that Puyol had to leave the pitch halfway through the second half in the match against Getafe this Saturday.

Puyol to miss at least five games

If the Barça captain is sidelined for four weeks he’ll miss the matches against Spartak Moscow, Granada, Sevilla, Benfica and Real Madrid. If he’s out for six weeks, he’ll also miss the match against Deportivo.
