The manager thanked the 85,610 fans that came to the Camp Nou and he noted that a full stadium "is important for the spectacle"
"The players were at an extraordinary level. They played with a lot of intensity from the first minute", said Roura
Jordi Roura highlighted the overwhelming response from the fans in Barça’s first midday match of the season. 85,610 fans cheered the Blaugrana on from the stands and the manager was very thankful for the support. “It was an unusual time to play but we had a party in the stadium.” He added that a full Camp Nou “is important for the spectacle.”
Wide awake from the start
Despite the early hour, at least for a football match, the game was exciting from the starting whistle. “The players were at an extraordinary level. They were intense from the first minute ,” said Roura.
The assistant manager also believes it’s a good thing that six different Barça players got on the scoresheet. Among them, Alexis Sánchez, who scored the opener. “We’re very pleased with his work and attitude. He’s been a bit unlucky lately and I think he scored a great goal ... that goal gave him a lot of confidence.”
“Iniesta plays with such ease, this is what makes him great”
Andrés Iniesta put in a brilliant performance this afternoon and it didn’t go unnoticed by Roura. “He played at an extremely high level. He plays with such ease, he makes football look so easy. This is what makes him great.” Roura went on to praise Alex Song, who was named to the starting line-up: “He played with extraordinary solvency.”
