Puyol dislocates left elbow, to undergo further tests on Wednesday

Carles Puyol dislocated his left elbow in the match against Benfica this evening. His elbow has been immobilized and he’s currently under anesthetic medication. The player returned to Barcelona with his team-mates and he’ll spend the night at Hospital Barcelona. Puyol will undergo further tests this Wednesday to determine the extent of his injury and how best to treat it.

In Lisbon, President Sandro Rosell and football director Andoni Zubizarreta visited Puyol in hospital before the flight back to Catalonia.
