Muniesa's contract extension to take effect

The Club informed Marc Muniesa that contract extension clause that the player signed last season will take effect at the end of this season, the player will be part of the first team through June, 2013
This Wednesday, Marc Muniesa signed his automatic contract extension which was included in the contract that he signed last season - February 15th, 2011. The Barça B player will move up to the first team next season.
Integrated in the first team
The 20-year-old Catalan defender is known for his ability to play in different parts of the pitch. This season with Barça B, he played as a centre back, left back and sweeper. Muniesa has been a permanent fixture in the first-team training sessions ever since news of Éric Abidal’s scheduled surgery was announced. The La Masia graduate to-be played a couple of minutes in the Champions League clash against Bayer Leverkusen.
