The Argentinian will be sharing his fourth Ballon d’Or with the FCB fans in the build up to the cup tie with Malaga
Leo Messi will be presenting the Ballon d’Or to the fans on Wednesday night before the Copa del Rey quarter final with Malaga at the Camp Nou. The Argentinian won the award for the fourth time in Zurich last week, finishing ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Andrés Iniesta. The Barça v Malaga match kicks off at 21.30 and tickets can still be purchased from 9 euros (members get a 50% discount).
This is the second time that Messi has shared the award with the Camp Nou before a cup match. He did the same thing two years ago against Betis, also in the quarter finals. Curiously, in 2012 he also shared the trophy against the green-and-whites, though that time it was a Liga match. In December 2009, he offered the trophy before a derby against Espanyol that he was unable to play in due to injury.
