Tito Vilanova's assistant manager is sure that the match against Málaga "is the first decisive game of the season" and he believes that the team will "work hard to make it to the next round"
"Málaga are not a team designed to defend, they'll come for us," says Roura
During this Wednesday’s pre-match press conference, Jordi Roura declared that tomorrow’s match against Málaga in the Copa del Rey was “the first decisive match, the first ‘match-ball’ of the season.” The Catalan manager said that “it’s not necessary to tell the players anything, they are aware how important the match is.” He added: “I have no doubt that we’ll give it our all, but this is football. I’m sure that the team will react well.”
A Champions League team
Pellegrini’s Málaga are one of the best teams in Europe, and they proved it in the first phase of the Champions League this season. According to Roura, both Málaga and FC Barcelona will go for the win tomorrow. “Málaga are not designed to defend. I don’t know how they’ll approach the match, but they will come for us. They are a Champions League team, they have a great squad and if Isco or Toulalan don’t play there will be others that can fill the void,” said the manager.
The results against Málaga and Real Sociedad
It will be interesting to see how the team reacts in tomorrow’s match after this weekend's defea in La Liga. “When you have a bad result you need to analyze it. The team played well in the two games (Málaga and Real Sociedad) where we tied and lost. We didn’t kill off the games at home and away at Anoeta and both matches became complicated after that,” declared the manager, who added “we have to analyse how the matches played out because our attitude was correct.”
