The intense rain in Catalonia marked FC Barcelona’s journey to Seville this Saturday morning. The first team players, who will face Sevilla FC at the Sánchez Pizjuán at 22.00, landed in the Andalusian capital 40 minutes behind schedule due to the inclement weather.
18 footballers named to the squad
Tito Vilanova has named 18 players to the squad for this evening’s La Liga match. The ex-Sevilla player Adriano will miss the match due to injury, as will Iniesta, Piqué, Puyol, Cuenca, Muniesa and Abidal. In addition to the injured players, Andreu Fontàs and Jonathan dos Santos, both of whom were not named to the team by the manager, will also miss the match.
The directors Toni Freixa, Susana Monje, Pilar Guinovart and Josep Ramon Vidal-Abarca, and football director, Andoni Zubizarreta accompanied the first team to Seville.
