The Galician, who played 36 games last season for FC Barcelona B, will play for the Andalusian club on loan for two seasons
It was officially announced on Monday that Denis Suárez will go on loan to Sevilla FC for the next two seasons as part of the same operation that sees Ivan Rakitic join FC Barcelona. 20 year old Suárez came to FCB last season from Manchester City. He has a contract until 2017, and was one of the outstanding members of the Barça B team that just equalled the club’s best ever finish in the Second Division.
The season was already under way when he came to Barça, but the Galician adapted quickly to the new system, and played 3,011 minutes, scoring seven goals from 75 attempts and providing 10 goal assists. He’s a set piece specialist, and several of those goals have come from free kicks. Suárez also received the second highest amount of fouls in the reserves last season and has one of the best-ranked pass percentages of 82%.
Before coming to FC Barcelona, Denis Suárez was at Manchester City for two years after rising through the ranks of Celta Vigo. He has played for Spain at every youth level, right up to U21, and was in the squad that played at the U20 World Cup in Turkey last summer, where he featured alongside FCB’s Gerard Deulofeu.
