Catalan midfielder Sergio Busquets insists: "we have to win the two games left to play this year and learn both from our errors and the things we are doing well".
“We put in a good first half and we played well at times after the break, but the goal really shook us and although we really tried, we couldn't come back”- Andres Iniesta
Next training set for Tuesday
The squad will be back in training on Tuesday at 11.00 in a session behind closed doors at the Ciutat Esportiva.
Barça midfielder Sergio Busquets reckoned that one of the keys to the defeat was that: “maybe Bilbao pressed better than us - they are stronger than us and that’s normal”. After the team’s first league defeat of the season, Busquets insisted: “there’s no need to be alarmed, we just have to carry on. We have to win the two games left to play this year and learn both from our errors and the things we are doing well”.
Busquets was also clear in his views about the controversial foul on Neymar as he closed in on Gorka’s goal: “ the ref made a mistake. It was a one on one and Neymar was clear on goal – he just got it wrong”.
Below are the reactions from some of the other players after tonight’s game:
“We have to win the games that are left this year, begininig with the matches against Cartagena and Villarreal"
“Nobody lies to lose - it hurts to be beaten - but lets not forget we are still leaders"
"We're going home sad. We were more intense than agaisnt Ajax, but that wasn't enough to give us the win"
“We have to put right the things we have done badly and look at ourselves, but we've done things right too".
"We had the game under control, but the goal really hurt us. San Mamés is always a tough place to come to"
"Defeats always happen for a reason, but I don't think we can compare this one with the game against Ajax. We had some good phases of play tonight, but we have to be more efficient".
“We put in a good first half and we played well at times after the break, but the goal really shook us and although we really tried, we couldn't come back”
