Barça are about to play their fifth game this season after an international break, and to date such games have ended with two home wins and two draws away from home
The internationals over, Barça are now able to concentrate on Saturday's meeting with Sporting Gijón. It is three and a half months since Barcelona last had to deal with an international week, but this was the fifth time they have had to this season, although they have not been beaten under such circumstances.
The other four games happened between August and November, once a month. After the first, Barça picked up an important 2-2 draw at the Santiago Bernabéu in the Spanish Supercup, a trophy they would lift a few days later at the Camp Nou. The poorest result after an international break was the 2-2 draw away to Real Sociedad in the third league game of the season, when Barça threw away a 2-0 halftime lead.
Two big wins at Camp Nou
The last two international weeks were followed by Barça storming to victory against sides now fighting against relegation, Racing and Zaragoza. The Cantabrians were comfortably dispatched 3-0 on October 15, as was the Aragonese outfit, 4-0, on November 19.
