Brace from Míriam
The game started off in the best way possible for Xavi Llorens‘ players, they scored on four minutes. Corredera, with a great assist, set up Míriam for the first of the afternoon. As time went on Zaragoza settled into the match, but were unable to create goalscoring chances.
Barça kept on looking for another goal to consolidate their lead, and it came when Míriam scored her second on 34 minutes. The player netted the goal after a give-and-go with Sonia. With 2-0 on the scoreboard, Sonia could have made it three minutes later but the ball hit the post. Therefore, Barça went to the half with a two-goal lead.
Putting the game beyond reach
The second half started just like the first. Barça found their third goal two minutes in. It was Sonia that netted for the Azulganas after breaking the offside trap and heading the ball home. Despite being the better side, a goal from a penalty from Mariela on 54 minutes got Zaragoza back into the game. The visitors quickly tried to take advantage of the situation and created a couple of goalscoring chances, but to no avail.
Barça looked for the fourth goal to put the game beyond reach and Sonia came very close on 60 minutes when her shot narrowly missed its mark. A minute later Ani Escribano scored. The Barça player took advantage of a Zaragoza mistake at the back to score Barça’s fourth and her second in the League.
Sonia, who stood out due to her offensive prowess and talent, had another chance on 66 minutes, but the ball hit the woodwork. The game was beyond reach for Zaragoza, but Barça was still looking for another goal. On 78 minutes it came thanks to Olga, it was the last goal of the match and Barça won 5-1.
The next game will be against SPC Llanos Olivenza.
