FCB's Women's team to face the European champions

Barça and Olympique Lyon will face off in a friendly match on September 5th at 19.00 in Annecy, France

The French team have won the past two editions of the Women's Champions League and the last six French leagues

The champions of the Spanish league will face off against the French champions in a friendly next Wednesday, September 5, in Annecy at 19.00. Xavi Llorens’ team, who just won their fourth consecutive Catalonia Cup, will play against the all-powerful Olympique Lyon. Olympique, back-to-back champions and holders of the Women’s Champions League, have dominated the French national league for the past six years.

Champions League test

The Azulgranas are eager to play against such stiff opposition seeing that it’s not every day that you get to hone your skills against one of the most powerful club teams in the world.

Furthermore, the match against Olympique Lyon is a good test for the Azulgranas ahead of their Champions League Round 16 playoff. Xavi Llorens’ players will make their Champions League debut on September 26 or 27, against Arsenal. The return leg of the tie will be played in London on October 6 or 7.
