This is the first centre that Barça has set up in the South American country.

The FCBEscola in Brazil is now operating. More than 150 children have started training in Salvador de Bahía using the FC Barcelona methodology. This is the Barça football school’s first ever experience in the South American country, a place with such a huge footballing tradition that has produced some outstanding players over the years.

The director of the FCBEscola, Xevi Marcé, is leading the Barça expedition in the company of Carles Martín, Jordi Puigbò, Javier Guzman and Iván Piñol. The work of the FCBEscola in Brazil will go on for longer. Next January, Rio de Janeiro will host a coaching clinic to produce the people who will be in charge of the development of different campuses in the city of Rio and in others such as São Paolo and Belo Horizonte.

In total, more than 3,000 Brazilian children will be getting the chance to experience the FC Barcelona methodology over the course of 3 years thanks to the FCBEscola. And all of that in the country that is hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2014 and the Olympic Games in 2016.
