Gerard Deulofeu will be a FC Barcelona player through June 30 of 2017. The players pledged the next four years of his career to Barça when signed his new contract this Wednesday afternoon at the Club’s offices. The signing ceremony was attended by President Sandro Rosell, vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu, Barça B director Jordi Mestre and director of football Andoni Zubizarreta.
Deulofeu’s buyout clause is set at 35 million euros.
“I’m very happy”
After he signed his contract, the player spoke with Barça TV and fcbarcelona.com. During the interview, the player noted that “since I was a kid it’s been my dream to be in the best club in the world.” He added: “I came here when I was very young and little by little I’ve worked my way up, and now I’m here.” The 19-year-old went on to say that “I want to keep on working so I can reach the top. For now on I have to continue working.” He concluded the interview by thanking his family “for everything they have done so that I could be here, and my coaches and team-mates.”
