The reserve side trained this Friday morning at 11:00 for the last time before Saturday’s match against Cartagena (18:00, Esport3). The team is focused on winning the three points and continuing their good form.
Three matches, no defeats
Eusebio Sacristán’s men haven’t lost in their last three Second Division matches. In total, they’ve drawn once (0-0) and won twice, both times by a margin of two goals. To the team’s good form of late, we must add Barça B’s excellent performances when they play at home: since the defeat to Guadalajara in October, Barça B hasn’t lost a game at home. Since October 16th, the date of their last defeat at home, they have won four matches and tied three at the Miniestadi.
Sacristán said: “the goal is to continue our good form. We have an important game ahead of us and we hope to continue along the same lines.”
Cartagena needs to win
The most surprising thing about this weekend’s opponent is that they haven’t won since October 23rd. In Cartagena’s last two matches, they only lost by one goal. However, Sacristán calls on his team to be wary: “the past two results haven’t been good for them [Cartagena], but they are looking to move up from the bottom. They will come at us at the Mini. They have skilled players, we have to keep that in mind.”
In the first half of the season, the match between Cartagena and Barça B, which was played at the Municipal Cartagonova, ended in a 0-4 in favour of Sacristán’s men.
