The keeper Rubén Miño, who was given medical clearance to player after missing two and a half months of action due to a meniscus operation, is the newest addition to Barça B’s squad for the match against Almería
Eusebio warns his players of the dangers of tomorrow’s match and encourages them to “maintain the competitive identity until the last day and last second”
The manager named 17 players to the team to face Almería. The match is scheduled to kick off this Saturday at 16:00 at the Juegos Mediterráneos
Jordi Masip, Rubén Miño, Muniesa, Carmona, J. Dos Santos, Rodri, Sergi Roberto, Oriol Rosell, Sergi Gómez, Armando, Gustavo Ledes, Martí Riverola, Carles Planas, Ivan Balliu, Espinosa, Gerard Deulofeu and Rafinha.
Barça B travelled to Almería after completing their training session this Friday morning. The reserve team will play at the Juegos Mediterráneos on Saturday at 16:00. For this match, Eusebio Sacristán will be able to use Rubén Miño, who was given the medical all clear after recovering from the meniscus operation he underwent in February. It’s good news for the manager seeing that Oier Olazábal was called up to the first team to replace an injured Pinto ahead of the first team's La Liga showdown with Betis in Seville.
Almería, difficult rival at home
Focusing on Barça B’s rival, Eusebio warned of the difficulty his team will face to overcome an Almería side that are fighting for a promotion playoff spot: “the last results they’ve had are a good indication that they are strong and on form. However, we have to be excited and eager to win after two consecutive defeats.” Almería are currently in sixth position on 58 points, level on points with Córdoba. Almería have won eight matches at home, drawn eight and only lost one.
Competitive until the end
With six matches still to play, the Barça manager encouraged his players to maintain their fighting spirit until the end: “I want the players to maintain the team identity, the tension and the competitive level until the last day and last second. It would be good to finish off the season with the maximum number of points and finish as high up the table as possible.”
Kiko Femenía and Lobato, both of whom are injured, along with Ilie, will miss the match. Femenía continued to recover from the pulled hamstring he picked up against Elche last Saturday during this Friday’s training session. Lobato did not travel with the team to Almería as a precaution.
Doungou, with Juvenil A
Besides Oier, Tello, Bartra and Montoya, all of whom are with the first team, Doungou will also miss Barça B’s match. The player trained with the Juvenil A team in preparation for the away leg of the round of 32 of the King’s Cup against Athletic Club. Eusebio said that “we understand that the Juvenil team need Doungou at the moment. He’s a player that has had great performances for us. We’ll try to manage the issue so that everyone benefits from the situation.”
