FCB B-UD Las Palmas: Barça B aim to finish the season on a high note
Barça B will face Las Palmas in the last match of the season at home with the objective of offering a victory to the fans and members that have supported the team this season
Eusebio will not be able to call on Tello, Dos Santos, Bartra and Montoya, all of whom have been named to the first team’s Cup squad. Deulofeu, with Spain’s U19 team, and Sergi Roberto, injured, will also miss the match
Barça B will face UD Las Palmas at the Miniestadi in the second to last match of the season with the ambition of breaking their three-match losing streak. This Saturday, at 20:00, Eusebio’s team take on the Islanders in a match where neither side has much at stake.
The session this Friday saw all the available players train with the exception of Tello, Dos Santos, Bartra, Montoya and Deulofeu, the first four have been named to the first team’s Cup squad and striker is with Spain’s U19 squad. Sergi Roberto also missed the session due to a knock he received on his left calf in Barça B’s last match. The midfielder will not feature in tomorrow’s game.
Tribute to the fans
Barça B want to end the season by offering up a victory to their fans. For this reason Eusebio called on the supporters to come to the Miniestadi. “We want to end the season on a high note. Our objective is to play good football in the last two matches of the season,” said the Barça B manager.
The match will start at 20:00 and will be broadcast live on Canal 7 of Canarias. Therefore the only way to watch the game in Barcelona is to go to the stadium.
Las Palmas, on form
Barça B’s penultimate rival in the Liga Adelante, UD Las Palmas, come into the match at the Mini on a two-game winning streak (Hércules and Elche). The visitors, who are not in danger of being relegated, sit in the eight spot of the table, two points ahead of Eusebio’s team. Therefore, if Barça win, they’ll improve their standing in the Liga.
UD Las Palmas are a dangerous team. In fact, the Islanders beat Barça B by 3-1 in the first half of the season. The team led by Juan Manuel Rodríguez combines youth with experience and the team boast excellent players like Portillo, Javi Guerrero, Vitolo and Dani Castellano.
