Barça B battled back to take the three point in the Second Division Clásico against Real Madrid Castilla (3-1). The Miniestadi was packed to the gils to watch the reserve sides of FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. Los Blancos took the lead before the break thanks to a strike from Morata, who was assisted by Juanfran. The second half started with a direct red card for Álex and Araujo made sure to make it 2-1. Deulofeu, from the penalty spot, scored the final goal of the match (3-1).
Madrid strike first
Barça B started to take control of the match 30 minutes into the first half. Luis Alberto, Barça B’s forward, had two fantastic chances to give his team the lead but Mejías did well to save both attempts.
Madrid took the lead despite Barça B’s dominance. The goal came after Juanfran provided a sublime cross into the Blaugrana area for Morata, who fired away to give Los Blancos the lead. Before the first half came to a close, Araujo could have brought Barça B level but Mejías, once again, denied the home team with a superb save.
Araujo gives Barça the lead
Minutes after Álex was shown a red card, Araujo brought Barca B level. The Argentine controlled the ball in the heavily packed Madrid area and fired home to the joy of 12,050 fans in the stands of the Miniestadi.
The Argentine made sure to give his team the lead through a superbly executed counterattack. Araujo has scored five goals so far this season.
Deulofeu kills the game off
Gerard Deulofeu wanted to be part of the party. The Catalan forward forced a penalty when his shot was stopped by an unfortunate handball from the Madrid defence in Los Blancos’ area. Deulofeu was quick to make it 3-1 from the penalty spot. So far this season, the forward has scored 13 goals, and he’s his team’s highest scorer with 13.
Barça B are fifth in the table on 39 points.
