Sergio Araujo is Barça B’s newest addition to the team ahead of the 2012/13 season. In an interview with Barça TV and fcbarcelona.com, the Argentine said that he’s always dreamed of playing for the Azulgrana Club and that “the Barça train came by last year, when the Club came looking for me, and now that I’ve signed I don’t think I’m ever going to get off.” The on-loan player from Boca Juniors added that “Barça are the best Club in the world and I’ll give it my all to be in the first team.”
Together with Messi, Mascherano, Xavi and Iniesta
“I imagine myself playing alongside Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Mascherano. . .” said Araujo, who stated that “these players are a group, I can’t pick a favourite.” The Argentine also said that he’s “very eager to play with the team and to start training” with Eusebio Sacristán’s Barça B players.
On his experience with Boca Juniors, Araujo said “the moment that we were champions and when we played the Copa Libertadores, despite losing in the final, was beautiful.” However, the Argentine was quick to highlight that he’s focused on the next chapter of his career.
Winning it all
Ambitious and hungry for titles, Araujo admitted that he wants “to win it all” with FC Barcelona. He went on to explain that he can “play in any of the three forward positions,” but that he’d like to “improve my areal game.”
